Clover's Jumbo Needle Protectors are caps designed to protect the stitches inside heavy gauge knitting needles. There is a model that fits needles between 8 and 10 mm and a smaller model that comes in packs of four. 
 
These caps prevent the fabric from slipping off the end of the needle by acting as a stopper, and are ideal for protecting stitches on knitting needles, double pointed needles, or circular needles. Once placed on the ends of the needles, the stitches are collected inside to prevent them from falling out, and they also protect the tips of the needles from being damaged.
